On February 15, 2019 the Teleconference entitled “Topical issues of pediatric dentistry and prevention of dental diseases” was organized by the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of the Belarusian State Medical University. The university professors from 4 cities: Khabarovsk (Russia), Minsk (Belarus), Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) participated in this scientific event.

After the welcoming words of the representatives of the Far Eastern State Medical University (Russia), the Belarusian State Medical University (Belarus), the Tashkent State Institute of Dentistry (Uzbekistan), Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D.Asfendiyarov (Kazakhstan) the following reports was presented to the audience:

  1. “Prevention of Occlusive Caries” - N.D.Chernyavskaya, T.N.Terekhova (Belarusian State Medical University, Minsk, Belarus);
  2. “Evidence of the program for the prevention of dento-alveolar anomalies with the correction of bad habits” - Y.V.Kadukova, A.A.Antonova (Far Eastern State Medical University, Khabarovsk, Russia);
  3. “Clinical assessment of the severity of oral candidiasis” - S.K.Yusupalikhodzhayeva, O.Y.Bekzhanova (Tashkent State Institute of Dentistry, Tashkent, Uzbekistan);
  4. “Periodontal disease is the key problem of dentistry” - M.T.Kopbaeva, Z.Oralkhan, A.A.Tasilova (Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D.Asfendiyarov, Almaty, Kazakhstan);
  5. “Evaluation of the effectiveness of dental anomalies treatment” T.V.Gorlacheva, T.N.Terekhova (Belarusian State Medical University, Minsk, Belarus).

A remarkable feature of the conference was its diversity with the most topical issues that cover all the main sections of modern pediatric dentistry. As a result the conference turned out to be extremely useful for the development of a holistic view towards the modern possibilities of the dental specialty. The reports were devoted to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental diseases, as well as assessing the quality of dental care. After presentations of the reports the audience had a short but useful discussion.
