Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Belarus on March 25-28, 2019, on March 27 Belarusian State Medical University was visited by the delegation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan consisting of Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher K. Shadmanov and head of the international department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ayubhon Kayumov.
The main purpose of the visit to the Belarusian State Medical University was to familiarize with the organization of the educational process, research, medical work, discuss issues of developing cooperation in the field of medical education, deepening partnerships with medical universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The delegation was received by the University Rector Anatol V. Sikorsky. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations Vasili V. Rudenok and Head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies Alexandr V. Staheiko.
During the official meeting Rector of the University Anatol V. Sikorsky made a presentation with detailed information about the Belarusian State Medical University: history, structure, educational and scientific activities of the university; organization of the educational process and life of students.
In addition, Anatol V. Sikorsky told about the main areas of cooperation with partner universities from the Republic of Uzbekistan. The university cooperates with 4 educational establishments of Uzbekistan on a contractual basis. The main areas of cooperation include joint training of higher scientific qualifications, training of Uzbek doctors in clinical internship and at the Faculty of advanced training and retraining of personnel, joint publications on topical issues of medicine and education, exchange of teachers, students and undergraduates. The rector also expressed interest in increasing the number of students from Uzbekistan, who have recommended themselves on the positive side.
The guests were presented with the achievements of the university in the field of introducing modern technologies into the educational process, in particular, the possibilities and main structural elements of the university’s own website, electronic journal, and electronic library.
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher K. Shadmanov thanked the Rector of the University Anatol V. Sikorsky for the information provided, appreciating the level of organization of the educational process, the professionalism of the staff and teachers of the Belarusian State Medical University, as well as the ability to combine classical approach, simulation, interactive and distance learning in the preparation of highly qualified specialists.
In turn Alisher K. Shadmanov spoke about the system of organization of higher medical education in Uzbekistan, expressing interest in the exchange of experience between the two states in the preparation of highly qualified doctors.
The parties agreed on deepening partnerships in academic and scientific fields, in particular, organizing joint television and Internet conferences, scientific and practical conferences and symposia on topical issues of medicine, training in clinical internship and at the Faculty of advanced training and retraining of Uzbek doctors, joint training of higher scientific qualifications, as well as the development of academic mobility.
Alisher K. Shadmanov thanked the university administration for the hospitality and organization of the reception.
In turn, the university's rector also thanked the guests for the visit, expressing hope for establishing long-term fruitful cooperation with medical universities and health institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged souvenirs.
After the official part, the delegation was given a tour of the Belarusian State Medical University, including a visit to the museum of the Department of Normal Anatomy and the Center of practical training.
