On April 11, 2019 a delegation from the International Association on Education in Eurasia and America visited the Belarusian State Medical University. The delegation included Mr. Yan Fei, Head of LLC Amy International, Ms. Van Xiaomei, secretary of LLC Amy International.
The delegation was received by the Rector of the University Anatol V. Sikorsky. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations Vasili V. Rudenok.
During the official meeting, the parties discussed issues relating to the learning process, educational exchange, organization of higher medical education in the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus, the possibility of holding joint Internet conferences, scientific and practical conferences, seminars and symposia on topical issues of medicine, the possibility of establishing cooperation in the direction of students from China to study at the Belarusian State Medical University.
The university's rector Anatol V. Sikorsky noted that at the Belarusian State Medical University the number of students from China is growing every year. The students have proved themselves to be hardworking and ambitious.
The Chinese side has indicated interest in developing cooperation in the field of specialists’ training for practical health care, as well as in the fields of dentistry, medical care, pediatrics and pharmacy. Also the following perspective directions of cooperation were defined: training in English of BSMU students of traditional Chinese medicine, organizing courses to teach students of the Belarusian State Medical University non-traditional Chinese medicine. During the conversation the possibility of the arrival of teachers from the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus and the opening of a branch of alternative Chinese medicine on the basis of the Belarusian State Medical University were also discussed.
On the part of the People’s Republic of China, it was proposed to teach citizens of China in Russian in their own country, and then study at the Belarusian State Medical University in the first year of the medical faculty for foreign students.
In addition, they also discussed the possibility of organizing lectures in biology, chemistry and other main areas in China, which are necessary to prepare for admission to the Belarusian State Medical University. The parties also discussed the possibility of training citizens from the People’s Republic of China at the preparatory department of the Belarusian State Medical University and continuing education at the Belarusian State Medical University from the 4th course with a bachelor's degree.
Anatol V. Sikorsky positively assessed all offers of the Chinese side suggesting, in turn to accept applicants from China also to study at the Faculty of career guidance and pre-university training.
Anatol V. Sikorsky noted that this so-called university tourism has worked well in cooperation with India, and therefore can be applied to Chinese citizens. University rector Anatol V. Sikorsky also noted the effectiveness of advertising and information companies abroad using the media of a foreign state to popularize educational services of our country in general and Belarusian State Medical University in particular.
Members of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China also positively assessed the proposed areas of cooperation from the Belarusian side, expressing hope for deepening bilateral partnerships.
After discussing mutual areas of interest, the parties agreed on further cooperation in science, education and culture.
At the end of the meeting, the guests from the People’s Republic of China thanked the university rector for hospitality and the organization of a warm welcome and also told in more detail about their activities in the field of education abroad.
In turn Anatol V. Sikorsky also thanked the guests for the visit, expressing hope of establishing long-term fruitful cooperation with the People's Republic of China.
