For the whole July 2nd-5th year students of the Medical Faculty for Foreign Students are undergoing summer internship at the healthcare institutions of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk.
Foreign students who study in specialties: 1-79 01 01 “General Medicine”, 1-79 01 03 “Preventive Medicine”, 1-79 01 07 “Dentistry” and 1-79 01 08 “Pharmacy” under the guidance of experienced tutors have the opportunity to work as nursing assistants at the hospital inpatient departments, medical practitioners at outpatient hospitals (polyclinics) and therapeutics departments, physicians at the therapeutic, surgical, obstetric and gynecological departments, dental physicians at the dental polyclinics, pharmacists at the chemist’s shops.
During the course of summer internship foreign students study the legislative documents regulating the activities of healthcare organizations, as well as regulatory documents, rules for proper filing of patient's medical records, etc. Students learn to conduct clinic-based studies, elaborate clinical investigation plan, perform medical manipulations, manage regular medical check-up, etc. Dental students gain the skills how to operate dental treatment units at the Dental outpatient hospitals.
In this crucial period future physicians, dentists and pharmacists acquire necessary practical skills and learn how to use them in real time with real patients in various outpatient and inpatient hospitals. During the period of summer internship foreign students reinforce knowledge and skills they have gained in the university classrooms and thus get a sense of their future profession.
