As part of the Contract Letter on Academic Cooperation between the Belarusian State Medical University and the Medical University of Bialystok (Republic of Poland), as well as its enclosure regarding student exchange, students from General Medicine, Pediatric, Dental and Pharmaceutical faculties underwent practical training at the base of Medical University of Bialystok from June 15, 2019 to June 28, 2019.
According to the results of the competitive election conducted by the deans, 12 students were elected.
To visit a cozy European city in the summer is a huge success, and to gain practical skills in the leading clinic of a Medical University in Bialystok is a wonderful gift for years of fruitful study, social and volunteer activities at the university.
Medical outpatient practice for students of general medicine, pediatric and dental faculties was held at the University Clinical Hospital of Bialystok.
Students were given a warm friendly welcome. Practical activities also left the most pleasant experience. For two weeks, students had the opportunity to take part in daily examinations and rounds, attend professors’ advisory receptions, and observe the high-tech operations by doctors from various departments.
The practical training on pharmacy technology and the organization and economy of pharmacy was held in the private organization “Apteka pod Gryfam”, where students familiarized with the working order of Polish pharmacies, the peculiarities of the sale, delivery and manufacture of medicines, the principle of the Polish healthcare system as a whole.
It is worth noting that for the first time this year, pharmacist students had the opportunity to participate in student exchange in order to undergo pharmaceutical practical training.
Students got acquainted with the students’ research activities of the Medical University of Bialystok, and also had the opportunity to discuss joint participation in students’ scientific conferences.
In their free time, students got acquainted with the historical sights of the city during a sightseeing walk which left an indelible impression.
At the end of the practice, students were awarded certificates.
On behalf of all students, gratitude is expressed to the leadership of the Belarusian State Medical University and the Medical University of Bialystok, deans of the general medicine, pediatric, dental, pharmaceutical faculties, the international departments of the Belarusian State Medical University and the Medical University of Bialystok, as well as the coordinator of the cooperation program with the Medical University of Bialystok, head of the department of medical and biological physics Mikhail Goltsev.
