Insight into the national and cultural traditions of the Belarusian village can be very interesting for foreign students. Knowing the history and culture of the Republic of Belarus strengthens respect and love for our country.
During the summer holidays a special program “Psychology of the Belarusian ethnic identity” was prepared for foreign students living in the BSMU dormitories.
The educational and entertaining program started with a mini-excursion to the museum of the dormitory “Grandmother’s corner” where different household cultural artefacts of the 19th-20th century are presented. Educational psychologists talked about the peculiarities of everyday life of the Belarusian peasants, paying special attention to the psychological features of national rituals and customs. Foreign students also found out more about the Belarusian wedding traditions of the 19th-20th century.
Then the foreign students moved to the open air. While playing energizers students from South-East Asia and Africa wrapped up in how the Belarusian ornaments were created and even crated their own unique image.
Due to this interesting program the participants were able to establish peculiar ethnic friendship and even built common cultural space.
The educational and entertaining program brought foreign students a lot of positive emotions and impressions.
