On November 29, 2019 in accordance with the plan of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus the Belarusian State Medical University hosted republican scientific-practical conference with international participation “Modern Technologies in Obstetrics and Gynecology”. The major organizer of the conference was BSMU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The priority areas of modern medicine, in particular obstetrics and gynecology, perinatology, reproductive medicine, are not only the introduction of modern resource-saving, cost-effective technologies based on the principles of evidence-based medicine, but also the exchange of scientific achievements between medical specialists, researches, academic staff of universities and health organizers.
Among the attendees of the conference were staff members of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Belarusian State Medical University, delegates of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, representatives of the Grodno State Medical University, Gomel State Medical University and Vitebsk State Medical University, as well as leading experts in obstetrics and gynecology from Russia and Ukraine. In total more than two hundred medical specialists participated in the conference.
The conference was opened with welcoming speeches of Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, doctor of medical sciences, professor Vladimir Khryshchanovich and the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, doctor of medical sciences, professor Lyudmila Mozheiko.
At the plenary session the delegates presented their academic pursuits dedicated to epigenetics of recurrent pregnancy loss, effectiveness and safety of the use of progestagens during early pregnancy, prevention of intrauterine infection during pregnancy, diagnosis and management of placenta accrete, gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist therapy in treatment of endometriosis, cancer prevention and pathogenetic treatment of mammary dysplasia, use of doppler ultrasound of fetal blood vessels at 36–42 weeks’ gestation in the prediction of adverse perinatal outcomes, disorders of sexual development, etc.
The discussion continued in the framework of the section meetings “Gynecology”, “Obstetrics”, “Perinatology and Medical Genetics”, “Reproductive Health” where more than 45 reports were presented.
Moreover, within the framework of the conference, the results of scientific research conducted under the guidance of leading domestic scientists in medical universities and scientific organizations of the country were highlighted.
The annual republican scientific-practical conferences with international participation such as “Modern Technologies in Obstetrics and Gynecology” held at the Belarusian State Medical University contribute to information exchange between the scientific and practical communities, development of international cooperation and integration of Belarusian and world science into practical health care of the Republic of Belarus.
