On January 17, 2020 ninth international online festival of friendship “From the Depth of Centuries to the Present Day” was held in Moscow, Russian Federation. This festival was organized by the Department of Work with Talented Youth of Lomonosov Moscow State University on the basis of the Department of Russian language for foreign students of the Faculty of Philology under the auspices of the Center for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources. Among the participants of the festival were undergraduate and graduate students, interns studying Russian as a foreign or non-native language.
The final stage of the Festival was held in the form of online-presentation.
About 150 students of 35 higher educational institutions of Russia, as well as institutions of near and far abroad participated at the festival.
This year, students from 40 countries took part in the festival. The Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian State Medical University were represented by foreign students from Azerbaijan, India, China, Congo, Ecuador and Estonia.
Festival participants were supposed to prepare and present to the jury videos in chosen categories:
Competitive video of the participant was supposed to begin with a 2-3-minute greeting and presentation - an oral story in Russian about yourself and your creative performance. This introduction was evaluated by the jury separately in the context of originality and creativity.
The leadership of the Belarusian State Medical University in person of Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work Pavel V. Markautsan and academic staff of the Belarusian and Russian Languages Department in person of the Head of the Department Tatiana N. Melnikova, as well as teachers and foreign students came to support the contestants and take part in the final stage of the festival of friendship “From the Depth of Centuries to the Present Day”.
After summing up the results the jury announced the winners of the festival:
There were the following BSMU students:
Arevalo Curley (Ecuador), a second-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students,
Verman Sofia (Estonia), a first-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students,
Gopa Gaganavani (India), a second-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students,
Li Menyao (China), a second-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students,
Zakirzadeh Davud (Azerbaijan).
The following BSMU students received Diplomas of participants:
Damaha Sivani (India), a second-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students,
Quete Dorcas (Congo), a first-year student of the Medical faculty for International Students.
The victory would be impossible without the support of the teachers of the Department of Belarusian and Russian languages: Kozhukhova N.E., Lyudchik N.N., Sannikova A.V., Samuylova T.I. and Sharapa A.A.
It should be noted that such large-scale international events contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between countries, increase interest in studying the Russian language and culture, help to understand the diversity of cultures of different nations.
