On February 28, at the Department of the Belarusian and Russian Languages, a regular meeting of the Club "Internationalist" was held, dedicated to the International Mother Language Day. The festival brought together students of our university from 10 countries: Belarus, Lebanon, Turkmenistan, Iran, China, India, Sri Lanka, Cameroon, Togo, Ecuador.
Tatyana N. Melnikova, head of the department of Belarusian and Russian languages, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Students read poems in their native languages and in Russian, performed songs in English, Spanish, Tamil, Sinhala, Hindi and dual language. Performances were accompanied by multimedia presentations.
The genuine interest of the guests and participants of the event was caused by the exhibition of souvenirs from different corners of the globe.
Those present received a lot of positive emotions, vivid impressions, had a pleasant and useful time.
The vast geography of the participants and their different linguistic affiliations did not prevent students from engaging in a dialogue of friendship. Everyone was united by the Russian language.
