Every year on the third Sunday of June a special professional holiday is celebrated in Belarus. This is the Medical Worker’s Day.
There is no person on the planet, who would never come across representatives of this profession. We meet the doctor when we are born and the doctor stay with us throughout all our life. Moreover, we all want to live a long and active life. Doctors help us to prevent diseases in time and when we are ill they do everything possible to provide us highly qualified medical care.
For centuries, medicine has been considered one of the most acknowledged and responsible profession. Therefore, the attitude towards people in white coats has always been respectful. Fyodor Petrovich Gaaz, famous doctor of the 18th century, wrote: “Medicine is the queen of sciences, because health is undoubtedly necessary for everything great and beautiful on earth”.
People put themselves in hands of medical workers giving them the most precious things – health and life. This profession requires fundamental knowledge, great dedication, and best human qualities, because even ultra-modern equipment can’t replace a sensitive and attentive attitude to the patient. Everyday care for patients gives special status to medical professionals, who are undoubtedly people of high public duty.
Most of medical workers celebrate their professional holiday at the workplace fulfilling their everyday duties. Nowadays medical workers face hard times fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, but still they manage not only to fulfill their duties but often to work real wonders.
“Being happy by making happy others is the true happiness and true ideal of life for anyone who devotes oneself to medical science,” said the great doctor Nikolai Ivanovich Pirogov.
Please, accept my sincere congratulations on the Medical Worker’s Day! Thank you for your professionalism, patience, kindness and nobility. Let your hopes and dreams come true, and the joy of doing what you love brings you inspiration. Let every day be a step towards professional growth, your hearts always be sympathetic and warm! Be happy, healthy and successful!
