Traditionally, in the early days of July, a solemn ceremony was held at the Belarusian State Medical University where graduates from the Medical Faculty for International Students were initiated to the profession of doctor and pharmacist. 2020 year made its amendments to this event, but the year will not become an exception. Graduates from different countries will take to their homeland the professional knowledge gained at the leading medical university of the Republic of Belarus, well-deserved diplomas of doctors and pharmacists and, of course, fond memories of years of study.
228 young professionals will begin their professional path in a complex, responsible and honorable field - to help all people in need of medical care.
The rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Anatol Sikorski addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech where he wished success to every graduate in the future profession emphasizing that the doors of Almamater will always be opened to host them.
Vice-rector for international relations Vasili Roudenok also addresses the graduates – representatives of medical community with congratulations wishing good health, professionalism and further career development.
The history of the establishment and development of the Medical faculty for international students is very interesting. Back in 1975, an order was issued to establish a faculty. Therefore, in 2020, it celebrates the 45th anniversary, as well as 50 years since the first graduation. At different times, students from more than 50 countries studied here. The Chronicle of the faculty is carefully kept by the Dean Oleg Ishutin.
Oleg Ishutin congratulates the graduates with the achievement of the established goal – to become a highly qualified specialist – physicians and pharmacists. At this solemn moment he wishes professional development in the face of modern challenges.
From the first days of their stay, the students got acquainted with the university and the country where they lived for several years. The faculty staff of the department of the Belarusian and Russian languages helped the students to get accustomed. Thanks to their care and reverent attitude, foreign students have found a second home and reliable friends. On behalf of the staff of the department of Belarusian and Russian languages the department head Tatyana Melnikova addresses the graduates with the words of congratulations wishing to achieve professional growth.
Today's graduates studied with wonderful teachers: academicians, doctors and candidates of sciences, professors and associate professors, state prize winners and holders of numerous awards. Thanks to their knowledge, professional skills and pedagogical talent, young doctors and pharmacists will be able to become excellent specialists in medicine. On behalf of foreign students graduates of the faculty who received diplomas with honors pronounced words of sincere gratitude to the administration, dean's office and the entire faculty of the university.
This is also a holiday for parents, relatives and friends of graduates. It’s hard to overestimate their support.
Fraigi Assad, Ph.D., neurosurgeon from Lebanon, graduate of the Minsk State Medical Institute in 1987, who received a diploma with honors, father of Fraigi Antoine, 2017 graduate of the Belarusian State Medical University and Fraigi Stefani, 2020 graduate, addressed the graduates with parental congratulation and blessing.
