Students who have achieved significant success in their studies, research and public activities, as well as students who have assisted doctors in the fight against coronavirus infection COVID-19 were honoured by the leadership of the Belarusian State Medical University.
The ceremony was arranged at the assembly hall of the leading medical educational institution of our country and was attended not only by the students of the Faculty of General Medicine, Pediatric Faculty, Faculty of Preventive Medicine, Dental and Pharmaceutical Faculties, but also by the representatives of the university administration, teachers.
“We have gathered to reward students who have played an important role in educational, research, and social life of the university,” noted the Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey P. Rubnikovich. “First of all, we express our deepest gratitude to those students who are working at city healthcare institutions in order to help our experienced doctors to fight the coronavirus infection COVID-19. While working at hospitals, outpatient clinics, centers of hygiene and epidemiology and other health care institutions, our students contribute to the whole practical healthcare during the course of COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf the University administration and faculty, I want to thank you for what you are doing for the benefit of patients. It would be much more difficult to fight COVID-19 without your support. We are proud of you!”.
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey P. Rubnikovich emphasized that notes of acknowledgement will be also addressed to the students’ parents who cultivated sympathy in their children. In total, more than 760 future doctors and pharmacists, who are trained at different faculties of the educational institution, have been awarded with the letters of gratitude by BSMU Rector for various achievements, including over 600 students who helped their senior colleagues during COVID-19 pandemic.
