“High Dentistry Day in the Republic of Belarus – 2021” International Scientific and Practical Conference was held at BSMU

“High Dentistry Day in the Republic of Belarus – 2021”

As always, on the first Friday of April, the XIII Conference “High Dentistry Day in the Republic of Belarus – 2021” was held. Speaking of that, it has the reputation of a prestigious international dental forum.

It is also significant that the conference was held at Belarusian State Medical University, the flagman of Belarusian medical science, which annually hosts high-profile meetings with international partners as well.

The Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Professor Sergey P. Rubnikovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, opened this stomatological forum. Professor Ludmila Dedova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Belarusian Republican Association of Specialists in Dentistry, Head of the 3rd Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of BSMU, welcomed the participants of the conference.

The conference was attended by stomatologists from Belarusian State Medical University, Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Vitebsk State Medical University, the First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg, A.I. Yevdokimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Kuban State Medical University.

The prospects for the development of dentistry in the Republic of Belarus were discussed collegially by leading specialists from our country, foreign experts, professors and lecturers of educational institutions. Belarusian methods of stomatological treatment were presented by the following professors: Yulia Leonidovna Denisova, Lyudmila Nikolaevna Dedova, Natalia Vladimirovna Novak and Associate Professor Olga Aleksandrovna Zharkova, which sparked great interest among the audience.

Professor Lyudmila Orekhova and Associate Professor Ekaterina Loboda presented a report on an interdisciplinary approach in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periodontal diseases. Russian scientists Evgeniya Nikolaevna Anisimova, Natalia Yurievna Anisimova and Olga Vladimirovna Gulenko reported about the concept of safety in outpatient dentistry and features of stomatologists’ professional burnout with analysis of their clinical observations. Professor Sergey Borisovich Ulitovsky, Associate Professor Anna Anatolievna Vasyanina, Associate Professor Olga Vladimirovna Kalinina presented the features of pregnant women and patients with autism spectrum disorders treatment, which was useful for both practitioners and tutors, residents, postgraduates and students.

There were 175 reports presented by stomatologists specialising in various areas.

To sum it up, such events enrich the academic community with knowledge, help to widen the boundaries of cooperation, promote the best practices in the organisation and running of conferences and set trends for the development of dentistry in the future.
