Chess is an intellectual game that belongs to the category of sports, which is definitely associated with the excitement of competition. At the end the fight of the rivals must receive a denouement and an appropriate reward.
Chess provides an opportunity to realize one's creative and mental potential, reveals the peculiarities of strategic and tactical thinking, therefore, this game requires an appropriate emotional attitude, which is needed for the intellectual struggle of opponents.
And, of course, it is a pleasant leisure.
Chess competitions were held these spring days. On the first day, students of dormitories fought in chess battles, and on the second, the strongest chess players of the faculties. The teams included three players (2 men and 1 woman).
Men played according to the Swiss system, and women - in a circular pattern. Time control was 10 minutes per game for each participant.
There were enough chess players willing to participate in the competition, and the representatives of the teams had to hold a qualifying tournament to determine the composite team. The result exceeded expectations.
