Chess is an intellectual game that belongs to the category of sports, which is definitely associated with the excitement of competition. At the end the fight of the rivals must receive a denouement and an appropriate reward.

Chess provides an opportunity to realize one's creative and mental potential, reveals the peculiarities of strategic and tactical thinking, therefore, this game requires an appropriate emotional attitude, which is needed for the intellectual struggle of opponents.

And, of course, it is a pleasant leisure.

Chess competitions were held these spring days. On the first day, students of dormitories fought in chess battles, and on the second, the strongest chess players of the faculties. The teams included three players (2 men and 1 woman).

Men played according to the Swiss system, and women - in a circular pattern. Time control was 10 minutes per game for each participant.

There were enough chess players willing to participate in the competition, and the representatives of the teams had to hold a qualifying tournament to determine the composite team. The result exceeded expectations.

In the individual championship among girls:

I place - Tatyana Aletskaya (hostel No. 2);
II place - Alexandra Chizhonok (hostel No. 10);
III place - Anastasia Greseva (hostel No. 3).

Among young men:

1 board:

I place - Rostislav Slobodenyuk (hostel No. 10);
II place - Musallam Mohammad (hostel No. 5);
III place - Viktor Zolovkin (hostel No. 2);

2 board:

I place - Dzhein Meath (dormitory No. 5);
II place - Alexander Noskov (hostel No. 3);
III place - Alexey Kairov (hostel No. 10).

In the team competition:

I place - hostel No.  10;
II place - hostel No. 2;
III place - hostel No.  5.

 
 

In the team competition of the faculties among the girls, the places were distributed:

I place - Faculty of General Medicine;
II place - Pharmaceutical Faculty;
III place - Pediatric Faculty.

In the individual championship among girls:

I place - Tatyana Aletskaya (Faculty of General Medicine);
II place - Maria Prokapovich (Pharmaceutical Faculty);
III place - Valeria Pitsuk (Pediatric Faculty).

In the team competition among young men:

I place - Faculty of Military Medicine;
II place - Dental Faculty;
III place - Pediatric Faculty.

In the individual championship among young men:

1st board:

I place - Alexander Morozov (Faculty of General Medicine);
II place - Kirill Minevich (Faculty of Military Medicine);
III place - Ilya Leonovich (Dental Faculty);

2nd board:

I place - Yuri Paramonov (Faculty of General Medicine);
II place - Anton Ramkov (Faculty of Military Medicine);
III place - Arman Bogdasaryan (Dental Faculty).
