Students from St. Petersburg completed their practical training

Students from our partner university - North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov were solemnly awarded with certificates of practical training.

The First Vice-Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Irina  Moroz met with the guys. The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Andrei Gindyuk and Head of the Department of International Relations Varvara Boika.

The general management of practical training in Minsk was carried out jointly by BSMU Department of International Relations, Faculty of Preventive Medicine and state institution “Minsk City Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology”.

During the meeting, the students shared their impressions of the practical training, noting that two weeks passed very quickly. It turned out that Belarus can surprise not only with the beauty, cleanliness and order in its capital, but also with the professionalism of health, education and epidemiological surveillance staff.

Minsk City Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology provided our guests with the opportunity to get acquainted with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus on sanitary and epidemiological surveillance of territories and facilities, with the basics of management and implementation of state supervision. The first week of practical training was devoted to epidemiology - so relevant in the COVID-19 era. The guests studied the issues of keeping the sanitary and epidemiological regime at various facilities.

The second week of practical training was devoted to hygiene. In their free time, the students "studied" the historical sights of Minsk and its surroundings.

The words of gratitude from Russian students were heard more than once. They noted that they were most impressed by the love for their profession of everyone with whom they managed to work. “It literally charged us to productive work,” said one of the practicians. - Each doctor answered all the questions in detail and tried to induce us into the specialty, so four hours passed quickly. A free lunch was organized for us on weekdays, accommodation in a comfortable hostel. The accompanying students offered a good cultural program. If I had the opportunity to come to Belarus for this practical training again, I would agree without hesitation. People meet halfway and strive to show everything on their work. This is a huge experience that I did not hope to get."

First Vice-Rector Irina Moroz thanked the guys for the successful completion of the two-week practice, stressing that the best of the best come for practical training. She wished the students success in mastering their chosen profession and invited them to visit our university as practicing doctors and young scientists.

Students of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov once again expressed their gratitude to the administration of  Belarusian State Medical University and Minsk City Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, the Dean of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine Andrei Gindyuk, and the Department of International Relations  for the opportunity to exchange experience, gain practical skills, and listen to advice and recommendations from leading specialists in the preventive medicine.

The knowledge gained will undoubtedly be applied by students in the future at their workplaces as specialists in the sanitary and epidemiology.

The administration of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" expresses gratitude for supporting the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of student exchanges to the management of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov represented by the Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Sayganov, as well as the entire team of the International office, represented by its Head Ksenia Nagornaya,.

We also thank the administration of Minsk City Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the person of Chief Physician Svetlana Ermak and the staff for supervising students during practice!
