International Hindi Day is celebrated on September 14 every year. On this date in 1949 Hindi was approved by the UN General Assembly as the state language after the Indian state gained independence.
Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world. It is one of the most widely used languages.

The first visit to Belarusian State Medical University of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha, who recently headed the diplomatic mission of the country in Minsk, was timed to this holiday. And the acquaintance with the leading medical institution of higher education of Belarus began with communication with its administration. On the university side, the meeting was attended by the rector - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, Vice-Rector for International Relations - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vasili Roudenok, Vice-Rector for Educational Work - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Pavel Markautsan, Dean of the Medical Faculty for International Students - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Oleg Ishutin, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages - Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Marina Petrova.
After the presentation of Belarusian State Medical University by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, an excursion to the educational institution was organized for the guest of honor. In the process, he had the opportunity to see how the training of future doctors and pharmacists is carried out, among whom there are currently more than 300 students from India, and their ranks are expected to be replenished soon.
Along the way, the parties discussed the issue of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Indian universities that train personnel for the medical field. An agreement was reached that in the near future Mr. Alok Ranjan Jha will study the issue.
Then the Ambassador of India and the administration of Belarusian State Medical University were invited to the celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Hindi, which was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian State Medical University, Indian students with the assistance of Milemir company Director, a member of the International Association of University Graduates Sakha Rama Shankar.
“Relations with the Republic of India, especially at our educational institution, are actively developing,” said BSMU Rector, welcoming the audience. - As practice shows, among the Indian graduates of Belarusian State Medical University, the percentage of diplomas with honors is the highest. This means that these young people consciously approach the choice of a profession and, accordingly, achieve very decent results. I would like to wish the present generation of tomorrow's physicians from India to work in the same spirit on mastering the chosen specialties in order to bring the health care of their country to a qualitatively new level. And we are ready to help you in every way in this, strengthening and expanding, thus, bilateral cooperation between our republics. I congratulate everyone on the holiday, and I hope that it will be held at BSMU every year.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus, in turn, thanked the administration of the leading medical university for the warm welcome and for the fact that his compatriots have the opportunity to feel at home here. This is evidenced by the holding of the International Day of Hindi with the participation of the administration of the Belarusian institution of higher education.
...The cultural program of the festival included poetry and musical perfomances that 'sounded' exclusively in Hindi. The poetry and songs were performed by medical students from India, as well as students of Belarusian State University studying Hindi.
Since it’s a holiday at the end of the evening the participants of the concert were presented with gratitude and gifts on behalf of the head of the Indian diplomatic mission.
