The All-Russian Interdisciplinary Youth Scientific Conference “IX Information School of Young Scientist” was held in Yekaterinburg in the third decade of September with the support of the Central Scientific Library of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main goal of the conference was to support the research initiative of young scientists by creating a multidisciplinary scientific and educational platform for presentation of the results of their own research activities, obtaining professional feedback from leading experts, searching for scientific contacts, as well as developing communication skills and professional competencies.
A 4th-year student of the General Medicine Faculty of Belarusian State Medical University, Yan Ostrozhinsky, presented his scientific research at the sectional meetings of the conference. As a result, in the section “Research in Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” the scientific work “Possibilities of Histologist software application in training of medical personnel” (scientific supervisor – senior lecturer of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of BSMU Igor Melnikov) was awarded a diploma in the category “For relevance and practical significance of research.”
Yan says: “The report covered some the key issues of research activities: an interdisciplinary approach, integration with specialists from near and far abroad countries, and implementation of research results in practice.”
In the section “Research in the field of medical sciences” the scientific work “Assessment of the impact of cardiorenal syndrome on the condition of cardiac patients” by Yan Ostrozhinsky and his fellow student Maksim Kotsov (scientific supervisor – associate professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Teresa Kopat) was awarded a diploma in the category “For innovative statement of research issues.”
It should be said that the works submitted to the discussion platform were highly appreciated by leading experts in the field of medicine, mathematics and computer science. They were recommended for publication in the collection of scientific papers “IX Informational School of Young Scientist” with DOI assignment and placement in the Russian Science Citation Index.
“In my opinion, such events promote students’ and young scientists’ development of scientific and research activity, their involvement into solution of urgent issues of the world science, formation of unified scientific and educational space and establishment of scientific bonds between future scientists from different countries”, – Jan Ostrozhinsky assured. – It was suggested during the conference to continue the efficient cooperation, as well as to support the research initiative of young scientists and expansion of scientific networking.
