Delegation of the International Higher School of Medicine

Within the framework of III Forum of Scientists of the CIS member states – 2021, Belarusian State Medical University was visited by a delegation of the International Higher School of Medicine (Kyrgyzstan) consisting of Professor Orozali Uzakov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Science and State Language and Argen Alymkulov, doctoral candidate of the International Higher School of Medicine, representative of the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues of academic and scientific cooperation between the two educational institutions.

The guests were received by Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, University Rector. The meeting was also attended by Professor Vasili Roudenok, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector for International Relations.

The International Higher School of Medicine was founded in 2003. The program is considered the best in the country, and the faculty staff is leading experts in the fields. Currently, the International Higher School of Medicine is a modern higher education institution with an extensive infrastructure, which employs experienced teachers, nationally and internationally recognized specialists in various fields of medicine, with high authority in specialized healthcare institutions of the republic.

Seventeen years ago, the first 13 students were enrolled in the university, while currently about 3,500 people study here. Most of them are citizens of foreign countries: India, Pakistan, South Korea, USA, Great Britain, Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Japan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Turkey and Syria. The training is conducted in English.

The International Higher School of Medicine is one of the best in the country according to the National Rating of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic as of 2020. The school is represented by membership in many leading international organizations and actively cooperates with them.

Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, University Rector acquainted the guests with information on the university. He noted that the training at the educational institution is practice-oriented and is organized at 8 faculties, 1 institute, 72 departments, 43 of which are clinical, as well as in the laboratory of practical training equipped with modern simulation equipment. More than 1,170 highly qualified teachers are involved in the educational process, modern information technologies and elements of distance learning are widely used. The university has over 7000 students, postgraduates, clinical residents, including more than 2000 foreign citizens from more than 50 countries of the world that receive education in Russian and English.

In turn, the Professor Orozali Uzakov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Science and State Language spoke about the International Higher School of Medicine, noting that it has an extensive infrastructure, including both educational and laboratory buildings, a clinical base, a library, and a student campus. The term of study at the medical faculty is 5 years. The management of the International Higher School of Medicine is constantly working to modernize the educational process, improve student learning conditions, establish new ties, and develop partnerships.

The sides discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Among the promising areas, issues of academic mobility, organization and holding of joint TV and Internet conferences, scientific and practical conferences and symposiums on topical issues of medicine, participation in student Olympiads, as well as issues of preparation of joint scientific publications were considered.

At the end of the visit, Professor Orozali Uzakov expressed gratitude to the BSMU Rector for the reception. The participants of the negotiations exchanged souvenirs and expressed hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation.

A tour of the university was held for the guests, which included a visit to the Department of Normal Anatomy, the anatomical museum and the laboratory of practical training.
