The students of the Faculty of General Medicine brought second degree diplomas from the International Medical Congress in St. Petersburg

On December 7-9, 9th International Medical Congress 'St. Petersburg Scientific Readings' was held in St. Petersburg, which was attended by students of the Faculty of General Medicine of Belarusian State Medical University Daria Kolesnik and Andrei Bankovsky.

Long before the beginning of the forum, the guys carefully prepared for their speeches, honing and adjusting their presentation of the material, consulting with experienced scientific supervisors. Daria Kolesnik presented the report 'The direction of mutational pressure and the nature of selection in the coding sequence of the epigenetic protein' at the section 'Medical Biology and Medical Genetics' (supervisor – Anastasia Akunevich, assistant of the Department of General Chemistry). The results of his work 'Possible molecular glue to the ubiquitin ligase complex CRL4CRBN and unidentified neosubstrates' (supervisor – Olga Rineyskaya, Head of the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor) were presented to a wide audience by Andrey Bankovsky at the section 'Biological Chemistry'.

During the open discussions at the breakout sessions, speakers, listeners and jury members discussed important scientific issues, as well as put forward new hypotheses and possible strategies for further research by young scientists.

Following the results of the conference, Daria Kolesnik and Andrey Bankovsky took second places in their sections. In addition, the guys made new acquaintances, shared their scientific interests and plans.
