The 21st annual Congress of Pediatric Infectiologists of Russia 'Actual Issues of Infectious Pathology and Vaccine Prevention' was held in mid-December 2022 in Moscow. The Belarusian State Medical University was represented by students of the 6th year from the Faculty of Pediatrics Valeria Galushina and Elizabeth Ladik.
Within the forum, respiratory and intestinal infections, approaches to etiotropic treatment and vaccine prevention of various infectious childhood diseases were discussed. Special attention was paid to the urgent conditions in the practice of the primary care pediatrician.
Under the guidance of the Deputy Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of BSMU for educational work, Candidate of Medical Sciences, MD, PhD, Associate Professor Tatsiana Artsiomchyk students prepared theses and poster report 'Case of congenital sepsis caused by Streptococcus agalactiae' which was represented at the Young Scientists Competition during the Congress.
At the end of the scientific competition, the collaborative work of Valeria Galushina and Elizabeth Ladik was awarded the 1st place in the nomination 'Description of clinical cases'.
By the way, the 21st annual Congress of Pediatric Infectiologists of Russia was attended by more than one hundred specialists from all over Russia, as well as from CIS countries.
