The rector’s cups in mini-football remained in Minsk

The sports festival was held at the stadium of Belarusian State Medical University from May 16 to 19.

This tournament is an excellent opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle among young students, as well as strengthen sports and cultural ties between medical universities of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

The national teams of Belarusian State Medical University, Vitebsk State Medical University, Gomel State Medical University, Grodno State Medical University, as well as Kuban State Medical University competed for the mastery of the main trophy.

Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich opened the tournament with a welcoming speech, wishing the guys good luck.

The ceremony was attended by guests of honor: Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational work, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Pavel Markautsan, Chairman of the primary trade union organization of students Andrey Anisimov, chief judge of the competition Leonid Lozniukha.

The Anthem of the Republic of Belarus and the Anthem of the Russian Federation were played.

All teams were presented with loaves from our university.

Four days of interesting matches for the Rector's Cup were held in one breath. The results of the match meetings did not reflect the intensity of the games that reigned on the football field.

Results of games among women 's teams:

The 1st place was taken by BSMU team;

2nd place – VSMU;

The 3rd place was taken by GrSMU;

4th place – KSMU;

5th place – at GSMU.

Results of games among men 's teams:

The 1st place was taken by the BSMU team;

2nd place – GSMU;

3rd place was taken by KSMU;

4th place – VSMU;

5th place – at GrSMU.

What a victory! Well done guys!

The performance of BSMU cheerleading team and a student of the Pediatric faculty, Angelina Korol, was bright and spectacular. Folklore theater "Med.uni.ca" performed the dance "May Kraina Belarus". The songs "Belarus" and "Peace to Your Home" were performed by Ekaterina Bankovskaya, a student of the General Medicine.

The closing parade took place at the end of the football tournament, where Rector of Belarusian State Medical University Sergey Rubnikovich, Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational work Pavel Markautsan and Deputy Chairman of Belarusian Professional Union of Health Workers Elena Latushkina made a solemn speech and congratulations to all participants of the competition.

The winning teams were awarded cups, diplomas and prizes to the winning teams, each participating team received a certificate.
