Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Belarus on January 28-30, 2019, on January 29, 2019 BSMU was visited by a delegation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia consisiting of Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Arsen G. With the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, a rich program was organized for honored guests, which included familiarization not only with the educational system of the Republic of Belarus, but also with the management of high-quality medical care.
The main purpose of the visit to the Belarusian State Medical University was to familiarize with the management of the educational process, discuss the development of cooperation in the field of medical education, including postgraduate.
The meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia was attended by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus

During the official meeting, Rector of the University made a presentation with information about the Belarusian State Medical University and spoke about the history, structure, educational and scientific activities of the university, as well as about the features of the educational process. It was noted that the medical university has a highly qualified teaching staff, modern clinical facilities and comfortable living conditions for students. The university attaches the greatest importance to the improvement of the quality of medical specialists training, provided by the introduction of innovative forms and technologies of education.
The parties discussed issues related to the learning process, the systems of higher medical education management in the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus, as well as the rules for admission to higher medical schools and conducting admission campaigns.
In continuation of the meeting, the rector of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education presented the guests information about the Academy, which was founded in 1931. Today it is a unique educational, pedagogical and scientific center, which is the republic’s leading institution of additional education in the industry.
At the 52 departments of the Academy more than 18 thousand doctors annually improve their skills. About 500 doctors, including foreign citizens from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, are enrolled in doctoral studies, postgraduate studies and clinical residency.The departments’ clinical bases are advanced medical institutions of Minsk and the Minsk region, republican scientific and practical centers equipped with modern high-tech medical diagnostic equipment.
The parties discussed the system of postgraduate education management in the Republic of Belarus, as well as the process of advanced training and retraining of specialists at the clinical bases of Minsk and the Minsk region.
The Belarusian side expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the academic and scientific fields with the Republic of Armenia, in particular, in attracting citizens of the Republic of Armenia to study in the Republic of Belarus, in holding joint Internet conferences, scientific conferences, seminars and symposia on topical issues of medicine, in the joint preparation of scientific articles and publications devoted not only to topical problems of medicine, but also to modern trends in education and health care.
At the end of the meeting, the guests expressed gratitude for hospitality and warm welcome. The parties exchanged souvenirs.
After the official meeting, the delegation was given a tour of the Belarusian State Medical University, including the Museum of the Department of Normal Anatomy and the Center of practical training.
