On October 18, 2019, a festive event - "My Azerbaijan" initiated by students of the medical faculty of foreign students - citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at BSMU.
The honored guests attended the festive event, including first vice-rector of the university Irina N. Moroz, as well as deputy head of the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture Shafiga Mammedova and deputy head of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the Republic of Belarus Oleg Badalov.
In the current academic year, 28 students from Azerbaijan study at the Medical faculty for international students, (18 are studying "General Medicine"; 10 -"Dentistry").
In the period from 2001 to the present, 21 citizens of Azerbaijan have graduated from BSMU (15 - in the specialty "General Medicine", 6 - in the specialty "Dentistry").
Students of the medical faculty for international students - citizens of Azerbaijan with the assistance of the curators of the Azerbaijan Diaspora - together with the teachers of the Department of Medical and Biological Physics of the University, prepared a short message with a video presentation and introduced the guests to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Students, faculty staff and employees of the university got acquainted with video materials and presentations, printed materials of various subjects: on the country's social and political life, its natural resources, sports, architecture, traditions and heraldry.
The participants were also able to see national musical instruments, books, samples of carpet products, sculptural miniatures.
National music and songs sounded in the lobby of the university.
Our talented students conducted a real master class on the performance of Azerbaijani Lezghinka.
We hope that next year the exhibition of the national culture of Azerbaijan will also be no less informative and interesting and will give new vivid impressions!
