From October 21 to 23, 2019 Minsk Belt and Road International Medical Higher Education and Industry Forum (Minsk International Medical Forum - 2019) was held at the Belarusian State Medical University, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian State Medical University with the participation of the UWEE Union of Western and Eastern Education and EMY International Cross-Cultural Collaboration.
The forum was attended by experts in the field of medicine and pharmacy, as well as the pharmaceutical business of the People's Republic of China and European countries (representatives of the UWEE Union of Western and Eastern Education, Malaysia China Education Association, Cheeloo College of Medicine Shandong University and SDU-ZB Biomedical R&D Institute of Shandong University, Harvard Medical School, Université Paris V, Université Paris VI, etc.).
The Minsk International Medical Forum 2019 aroused great interest among the Belarusian side. The forum was attended by the leadership of the Belarusian State Medical University, faculty staff, students of the pharmaceutical faculty, 6th year students of general medicine, pediatric faculties, students studying in the discipline "physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation", the faculty staff of the reflexology department of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, representatives of the holding Belfarmprom, as well as rehabilitologists and reflexologists from Minsk health institutions.
This Forum has become the first international forum with the purpose to discuss achievements in research, development, standardization and application of approaches in the field of pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
The Minsk International Medical Forum 2019 served as a convenient platform for an in-depth analysis of the latest trends in academic and commercial developments and the use of Eastern and Western medical resources, the integration of traditional Chinese medicine in various areas of European health, as well as building international cooperation in the field of medical education and pharmaceutical production in 2020 in the light of a new trend in the development of higher medical education under the auspices of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.
One of the main outcomes of the Forum was the signing of trilateral cooperation agreements between the Belarusian State Medical University, the Minsk branch of the UWEE Union of Western and Eastern Education and the following organizations:
The signed cooperation documents not only lay the foundation for a new partnership, but also determine the further vector of cooperation between our university and partners from the People’s Republic of China.
The Minsk International Medical Forum served as an excellent platform for further strengthening close ties between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China and gave a new impetus to the development of Sino-Belarusian cooperation in the field of medical education and pharmaceutical production.
