The priority task of modern higher education is to prepare a specialist who has not only a certain amount of knowledge, skills, but also has spiritual values, is able to think outside the box, work creatively. Therefore, we must see the true value in the education of a spiritually rich and moral personality.
On November 13, 2019, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University hosted the International Festival of Choral Music “The Great Art of Inspiring” as part of the II International Pedagogical Forum “Art Education for the Sustainable Development of Society”. The organizer of the festival is the educational institution “Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank”, the faculty of aesthetic education.
The festival was attended by choral groups from 14 institutions of secondary specialized and higher education of the Republic of Belarus and Russia:
The International Festival of Choral Music “The Great Art of Inspiring” lasted two days. The first sacred music concert took place on November 12 in the Church of St. Simeon and St. Helena. Its organizers were the Belarusian Union of Musical Figures and the Belarusian Association of Choral Directors.
Each collective performed sacred music so penetratingly that silence reigned in the hall, where representatives of different generations were presented, and then exploded with a thunder of applause. Among the listeners there were foreign students of BSMU, who, judging by their reviews, experienced great pleasure from what they heard in this wonderful temple.
It was a real celebration of choral singing! Each of the teams was original and unique. The holiday continued on November 13 at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, where teams performed a secular program.
Being an important part of Russian spiritual culture, the best works of Orthodox art are an inexhaustible treasury of spiritual values. Like all church art, the music that sounds in the temple contains a powerful educational potential.
BSMU international student choir “Dominanta” at the end of the Festival was awarded a diploma for the preservation and development of spiritual and moral education of children and youth by means of choral performance. Congratulations! Well done!
