Effective psychological adaptation contributes to the rapid inclusion of foreign students in the educational process, increases their motivation to get new knowledge, master skills. It is one of the fundamental factors that in most cases determine the effectiveness of their training as future specialists.
During the first semester together with the Department of Russian and Belarusian languages, special team building classes for first-year foreign students were held. These classes were targeted at improving the interaction between first-year students, uniting the group, familiarizing with new norms and rules of the educational process. The questionnaires were also filled by the participants to analyze the level of effectiveness of first-year foreign students’ adaptation to the cultural and educational space of the university.
It is very important that during the classes, all students were emotionally involved in the interaction. They managed to create positive emotional environment in the group.
To sum up the process of psychological adaptation of foreign students is not finished, but even now we can see the positive outcomes of the work done.
