On October 1, 2018 the delegation of the Hainan Tropical Ocean University (People's Republic of China) visited the Belarusian State Medical University.
The delegation was received by BSMU Rector in charge, Vice-Rector for International Relations, professor Vasili Roudenok. The Hainan Tropical Ocean University was represented by Mr. Gong He and Ms. Catherine Grishayeva.
During the visit both sides discussed the possibility of establishing scientific cooperation in the field of biomedical disciplines, tropical parasitic diseases, etc.
Mr. Gong He noted that the Hainan Tropical Ocean University is very interested in establishing cooperation in science, education and culture with the Belarusian State Medical University.
Reference: Located in the southernmost part of China, Hainan Tropical Ocean University (HTOU) is the only state-owned comprehensive university jointly constructed by Hainan Provincial People’s Government, China National Offshore Oil Corporation and State Oceanic Administration of P. R. C. and Sanya Municipal People’s Government. The Hainan Tropical Ocean University was established in 1954.
HTOU now has 12 schools offering 1 MTA (Master of Tourism Administration) program, 44 undergraduate programs and 12 post-secondary programs. Its educational disciplines have expanded into 9 fields which are Liberal Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Management, Law, History, Agriculture and Education and Philosophy. HTOU has about 1200 faculty members. HTOU has more than 16000 full-time students including 110 postgraduates, 13000 undergraduates, 2900 students of post-secondary programs and 105 international students.
Mr. Gong He suggested the Belarusian State Medical University to develop cooperation in the field of Traditional Chinese medicine with the possibility of teaching students and faculty members both on the basis of the Hainan Tropical Ocean University and on the basis of the Belarusian State Medical University.
Professor Roudenok positively assessed the proposed areas of cooperation, noting the university’s readiness to accept a delegation of the faculty members of the Hainan Tropical Ocean University to organize a lecture course on traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of the Belarusian State Medical University.
Vice-Rector for International Relations Vasili Roudenok also invited the administration of the Hainan Tropical Ocean University to visit the Belarusian State Medical University at the beginning of 2019 to sign the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement.
After discussing the mutual areas of interest, the parties agreed to continue developing cooperation in science, education and culture.
