The international ranking of universities and research institutions SIR (Scimago Institšåutions Rankings), published by the Spanish research center SCImago Lab, has been updated. In 2021, only four Belarusian universities were included in this ranking, including for the first time - Belarusian State Medical University. BSMU took 854th place among world universities and 3rd place among Belarusian ones.
The importance of this rankings that, getting into it, the university significantly increases its reputation in the national and international educational markets, becomes more attractive not only for applicants, but also for employers and investors.
The Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a global ranking of academic institutions published since 2009 by the SCImago group, a Spanish-based research organization that includes members of the High Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) from the University of Granada, Charles III University of Madrid, University of Alcala, University of Extremadura and other major educational institutions in Spain.
The ranking is divided into five sections: government, health care, higher education, private and others. Evaluations are carried out in areas such as research results, level of development, international cooperation, number of publications and their citations.
Worthy positions in international rankings, activity in the global educational space, high marks of recognized world universities and scientific organizations confirm the professionalism of Belarusian State Medical University in the field of international cooperation, which in turn contributes to increasing the attractiveness of obtaining higher medical education among foreign citizens in a leading medical institution of higher education in Belarus and, accordingly, an increase in the export of its educational services.
