The X Republican Olympiad / The I International Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language «The Russian Language – the Way to Mutual Understanding and Harmony», organized by Belarusian State University, was held from May 1-19. It consisted of three stages during which the participants were offered to perform various tasks: self-presentation, lexical-grammatical test, creative task, listening and spontaneous monologue.
152 students from 33 countries took part in the Olympiad. The team of Belarusian State Medical University was represented by 16 students of the Medical Faculty for International Students. The professors of the Belarusian and Russian Language Department closely interacted with the students at all stages and provided them with thorough assistance. Based on the results of all five competitions, the Expert Commission named the winners and nominees of the Olympiad.
In the Russian language section, Sophia Verman (research advisor – Yana Krasovskaya-Kolyatinina) won the 2nd place. Farid Kulakhmetov (research advisor – Yana Krasovskaya-Kolyatina), Shirinnabat Nazarova (research advisor – Nadezhda Seryogina), Muhammetgeldy Tachgeldyev (research advisor – Nadezhda Seryogina) were awarded in the nomination «Expert of the Russian grammar».
In the section for English language students – Jha Nishant Kumar and Mazhar Sana (research advisor – Tatiana Samuilova) – took the 1st and 3rd places respectively. Guljemal Kakyshova (research advisor – Elena Ushakova) was awarded in the nomination «Oral Speech».
