A meeting of Indian students with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India

On November 13, 2018 a meeting of Indian students with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur was held at the Belarusian State Medical University. Ms. Sangeeta Bahadur visited our university with the aim of participating in the International Teleconference “Belarus - India - Russia: cooperation in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language”. Ms. Sangeeta Bahadur opened Teleconference with a welcoming speech and shortly after she went to the conference hall of the new BSMU laboratory building to meet with Indian students.

The meeting with Indian students was also attended by the Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Anatol V. Sikorski, Vice-Rector for International Relations Vasili V. Roudenok, Deputy Dean of the Medical Faculty for Foreign Students Evgeny A. Chernous, Methodist of the Department of International Relations Darya I. Nikitsina, Head of the educational company “Matey Abroad Education Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.” Rama Shankar Sah, as well as tutors of study groups of Indian students – teachers of the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages I.V. Tiwari and A.A. Viltovskaya.

The meeting was held in a warm and homely atmosphere. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur touched upon the adaptation of Indian students in a new country, the relevance of their chosen medical profession not only in India, but throughout the world, the need for personal growth and development. Ms. Sangeeta Bahadur wished the participants success in their studies and stressed that students should master the Russian language in order to be successful in medical specialty. She sincerely appreciated the work of teachers of the Department of Belarusian and Russian languages for their work on training and social adaptation of Indian citizens. Ms. Sangeeta Bahadur also thanked Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Anatol V. Sikorski and the university leadership for their attention to everyday problems of Indian students and kind-hearted attitude.

At the end of the meeting the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur and Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Anatol V. Sikorski emphasized the importance of such meetings and hoped that they would become traditional in the future.
