On November 14, 2018 Indian students together with Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Anatol V. Sikorski and Deputy Dean of the Medical Faculty for Foreign Students Evgeny A. Chernous took part in the solemn ceremony of planting trees on the territory of the Loshitsa Park. The ceremony was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Indian political and public figure Mahatma Gandhi.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus and was attended by representatives of the Council of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the administration of the Leninsky district, the Indian community.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur opened the ceremony. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich who noted that “planting of this alley is a significant event in strengthening Belarusian-Indian relations”. It is noteworthy that on November 14 the Children's Day is celebrated in India. Children are the source of inspiration filled with energy and hope. Our students were happy to help the younger generation in planting their trees.
