On November 13-14, 2018, a Russian-Belarusian media forum “Young Scientists as a Priority of the Union State” was held in Moscow (Russian Federation). The participants were the leaders of the Union State, leaders and young scientists of academic institutions, university rectors and representatives of student research laboratories of Russia and Belarus, editors of leading media of the two countries.
The forum was organized by the Permanent Committee of the Union State, the International Information Agency “Russia Today”.
During the opening ceremony, the State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

The participants discussed the problems of system interaction in the field of training of modern personnel, reviewed plans in the field of fundamental science, taking into account its applied nature and effectiveness. The issues of high-tech research in the natural sciences including medicine were raised.
Head of BSMU Department of scientific and technical information of the research sector, Elena I. Melnikova made a report “Natural Science as a Promising Area of Innovative Development”, where university was presented in the framework of the discussed issues and interaction with educational institutions of Russia.
