Regulations for admission of foreign citizens to the postgraduate (PhD) study

Form of education – full-time.
Duration of the education – 3 years.
Submission of documents from foreign citizens: from August, 1 to September, 30.

Training of specialists of the highest qualification is carried out on the basis of a contract on the preparation of a scientific worker of the highest qualification on a fee-paid basis. Foreign citizens who want to enroll to PhD program must have Master of Science (Arts) degree.

Those who enter the Postgraduate Course should have their PhD exams and credits in general subjects (Philosophy and Methodology of Science, Foreign Language, Basics of Information Technologies) passed.

Persons entering the postgraduate course should pass the entrance exam in the professional discipline in accordance with the curriculum of higher educational institution.

After successful graduation the foreign citizen is awarded the qualification of «Researcher» and is given the document of the standard pattern.

For admission an applicant must submit the following documents:

Application for Admission addressed to the Rector of BSMU;

—

Autobiography

—

Document proving the equivalence of foreign documents to Belarusian higher education diplomas and degrees in the procedure established by legislative acts;

—

Copy of higher education documents with indication of studied subjects and obtained grades;

—

Copy of Master Diploma with indication of studied subjects and obtained grades;

—

Copy of the certificate of passing internship (if available);

—

Copy of the certificate of passed PhD exams (differentiated credits) and master's examinations in general subjects;

—

List and copies of scientific publications (in the absence of scientific papers - research essay according to the chosen specialty);

—

Documents confirming participation in research work and innovative projects (copies of materials and (or) abstracts at scientific conferences, congresses and other similar events (if available);

—

3 photos 4 x 6 сm in size;

—

Certificate of health given out by a district polyclinic in Belarus;

—

Medical conclusion about the health condition and certificate that proves the absence of HIV – infection issued by the official authority of the country from which the applicant arrived (medical conclusion sample);

—

Copy of the passport or its equivalent, the document confirming the right to stay in Belarus, the obligatory health insurance contract.

All the documents issued in foreign language must be accompanied by their translation into Russian or Belarusian and must be notarised.

Identity document and the original diplomas are handed in by those entering the postgraduate course in person.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons who enter the postgraduate course to get the scientific qualification 'Researcher' or to the correspondence postgraduate course in order to take PhD exams (differentiated credits) in general subjects in accordance with the international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, treaties for the implementation of international programs, treaties of educational establishments, organizations of the Republic of Belarus, implementing educational programs of postgraduate education, with foreign country organizations (international organizations) or at the request of a foreign organization additionally hand in the copy of one of the above-mentioned treaties or the request paper of the foreign organization.
